An unconditional love

“Gwaine...” Merlin breathed, eyes sad.

“I’m sorry Merlin...” Gwaine whispered. “I tried so bloody hard...but it hurts too much...seeing you with him...how close you two...are...and...-” He gulped.

Merlin bit his lip harshly, feeling his heart break for the man.

“It’ll be better for me if i just go...” He croaked and turned to Merlin who suddenly ran up to him and hugged him tightly, the knight gasped in shock, frozen.

“M-Merlin-?” He asked.

“I’m sorry...i’m sorry for making you feel like this...Gwaine, i’m so sorry...” Merlin sobbed and buries his face against the mans’ neck, crying.

Gwaine stroked the mans’ hair, holding him close.

“I understand...you and Arthur need to be with each other, even if its constant...” Gwaine hushed.

“No...i-i didn’t know i was making you feel like this, i’ll fix it...i’ll fix you Gwaine i swear...” Merlin said and looked up at Gwaine.

Gwaine smiled and held Merlin’s cheek, his thumb skating across his cheek, collecting the tears.

“You would really do that for me?” He asked.

Merlin nodded. “I’d do anything for you anything...” Merlin smiled.

“You’re serious?” he asked.

“Very...i never wanted you to feel this way, i never would want you to...ever...” Merlin cried when suddenly he felt Gwaine’s lips on his, Merlin closed his eyes and kissed back, holding him close.

After a while they slowly parted, placing their heads against each other.

“I love you Merlin...i love you...unconditionally forever...” Gwaine whispered, Merlin nuzzled against Gwaine’s neck, the man smiled and kissed his head.

“-And if you would love me too, it would make me the happiest man alive...” He murmured against his hair.

“I love you too Gwaine...more than anything..more than anyone...” He hushed against Gwaine’s neck, lightly kissing it.

“Thank you Merlin...thank you...” Gwaine hushed and kissed him deeply.

Merlin smiled and looked at him with love and care, wiping away the tears that ran down Gwaine’s cheek and kissed him tenderly. “I promise to show you the love you deserve Gwaine...” He hushed.
