Nice to meet you neighbor part 17

9 months passed since that phone call and the two carried on their lives as normal, once in a while, when Merlin and Arthur walked through the streets, he would look around for a tall, beautiful brunette man, sometimes, at night he would cry. He’d have days where he’d want him so badly and other days where he’d move on.

Merlin woke one day and dressed warmly before going to his bed and leaned down, placing a kiss on Arthur’s cheek.

“I’m quickly going to the shops.” He hushed to the stirring man.

“Okay love, could you get me more biscuits?” Arthur croaked, tired, wrapping his strong arms around the man. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” Merlin said, sharing a kiss before leaving, he visited his local shopping center and walked into a grocery store.

He frowned as he spotted a man stacking bottles onto a shelf; he was tall and strong with brown hair.

Merlin frowned and moved closer, his mind screaming, begging it to be Gwaine.

“Gwaine?” He called, shyly and unsure.

The man turned around, his eyes going wide.

“Merlin.” He murmured. “No, no…you shouldn’t be here-“

Merlin ran over and hugged him tightly. “Oh my gods, you’re here…your actually here, I missed you so much!!” Merlin sobbed into his neck.

“I missed you too, so, so much..” Gwaine breathed, stroking his hair, smiling tearfully. “Oh my sweet Merlin…I love you.”

“I love you too!” Merlin cried, breaking the hug.

Gwaine smiled, stroking Merlin’s hair. “Merlin, I’m so happy to see you, but you should go back…please?”

“No, I want to be with you, I love you…”

Gwaine sighed. “What about Arthur?”

Merlin soon fell quiet, looking down.

“You should be with him…please…don’t stay with me, please.” Gwaine begged, cupping Merlin’s cheek. “Arthur is rich and he can give you a good live and he will love you properly.”

Merlin shook his head. “I don’t know what to do.”

“It’s alright, please trust me and go, there is another store near here…please don’t visit…” He begged.

Merlin bit his lip, tears falling down. “I love you…” He croaked. “I want to be with you, you’re the one-“

“-Don’t hurt Arthur, he’s a good man for you.” Gwaine murmured, placing a gentle kiss on Merlin’s cheek. “Have a good day, my love.” He murmured before leaving.

Merlin spent the day drinking in a pub, his mind reeling on who to have, he couldn’t let Gwaine continue loving like that and being upset and heart broken but he loved Arthur dearly and couldn’t tell him to get lost.

“Alright, last one…Cheeerrs!!” He slurred happily and gulped down a drink.

After paying, Merlin stumbled to the car and drove badly on the road.

He giggled as he drove through a red robot. “What a stupid colour-“ He hiccupped before he saw a car smash into him, he knew no more.
